FAQs
Still have questions? Check out some of the most common questions people ask below or get in touch to find out more.
Hypnobirthing can be beneficial for you however you birth your baby. Whether you have a caesarean, medical induction, home birth or go to a midwife led unit, the benefits of the course will leave you feeling calm, confident and informed.
It is recommended you start the course from the second trimester onwards. However, you can be start the course any time after 12 weeks.
There is a common misconception that hypnobirthing is an alternative to pain relief and only beneficial if you want a medication-free birth. Pain is a subjective sensation that everyone will experience differently. Hypnobirthing is not pain relief but it will help you reduce your stress and boost your natural pain-relieving hormones. If you practice the relaxation techniques regularly, you’ll have the best chance of coping with whatever experience you have.
Absolutely! Birth partners are a hugely significant part of your pregnancy, labour and birth experience, and the course is specifically tailored to include them. Birth partners get so much out of the course, and will often come away feeling just as excited as you are.
Of course! Born in Bloom can tailor the course to suit your needs.
Approaching hypnobirthing with scepticism is entirely natural and is encouraged. Being sceptical means you won’t take things at face value and you will be more likely to raise questions and challenge the information you are provided. Please contact Born in Bloom if you have any more questions or would like to book the course.
Hi, I’m Saranne
Congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you so much for being here!
I am a mum to my beautiful son and a step mum to 2 more. I’m a qualified adult and mental health nurse and I have worked for the NHS for over 14 years. Working within both mental health and physical health, I fully appreciate the interaction between the mind and body and how we can grow to allow our mind and body to work more harmoniously.
I came to know about Hypnobirthing whilst I was pregnant with my son due to having a lot of anxiety about birth. I figured if I could enjoy the final stages of pregnancy and trust the natural ability of my body then it was worth investing in Hypnobirthing. It was the best decision I ever made!
Within 2 months, I grew from feeling petrified and fearing the worst to feeling so ready and excited about the process of meeting my son. Ever since, I have been unable to shake the feeling that I need to help women like me:
- Women who are nervous mums-to-be who have been conditioned by society that labour has to be scary and dangerous
- Women who have had previous challenging experiences with birth who want things to be different the next time round
- Women who want to feel empowered and informed in such a medicalised system
- Women who want to have the knowledge and confidence to be in charge or their own birthing experience
Whatever your situation, I am here to help! I am a KG trained Hypnobirthing teacher, accredited by the Midwifery council ready to support you on this amazing journey to help you achieve the birth experience you deserve.
Pregnancy and birth are such beautiful processes, which women are naturally designed to do. The experience will inevitably have a profound effect on the rest of your life and your baby – what better way to approach that with calmness and confidence throughout your pregnancy and labour?
Through your journey with me, you will receive holistic, evidence-based sessions to support you to let go of the negative narrative of child birth. You will learn to trust your instincts and natural ability and see how awesome and brilliant you truly are!
I look forward to hearing from you!
